The Thrust
SSC...
...holds the record as the fastest car ever. The
speed record was set at Black Rock Desert in Nevada,
USA, on October 15, 1997. Powered by two giant
jet-engines it reached speeds above 1230 km/h (765 Mph).
|
Allthough this car is made for
top speed chases, It gains speed as fast as a F1 car
until it reaches 600 Mph. (4 seconds per 100 Mph speed
gain).
|

|
The Ferrari Enzo...
...is considered the most powerful production car of
all time with it's 660 HP , 5,998 Litre (366 cu in) V12
engine. |
Further more the Enzo is claimed
to reach 60 Mph in 3.65 sec and if you can find a long
enough runway you may try to reach it's top speed of 217
Mph (350 Km/h). That is, of course, if you have the
$670k to purchase one. |
 |
The White Lightning Electric
Streamliner...
...holds the record as the worlds fastest automobile
powered by electric engines. Powered by two 200 HP
engines this vehicle reached the record breaking speed
of 245.5 Mph (396 Km/h). |
You would think this vehicle is
only constructed for high speed, but this 1,111-kg
vehicle reaches 100 Mp/h (161 km/h) in only 8 seconds! |
 |
The Callaway Sledgehammer
Corvette...
...Is by many considered the fastest registered car.
Allthough having many challengers claiming they have a
faster car, there's no doubt It's "record" of 410 Km/h
(255 Mph) made on a speedway in 1988 deserves some
attention. |
Callaway is known to tune and
style american cars. In this occation they took a
ordinary Corvette C4 and boosted to nearly 900 HP. |
 |
The Dauer 962 LeMans...
...is considered the fastest accelerating street
legal car. It's 3 litre twin turbo 730 HP engine is
pushing the 1080 kilo car from zero to 60 Mph in 2.6
seconds. |
Street legal
my ass! In Iraq!? Those plates must be fake. Never the
less, the price is $850k, and the top speed is 405 Km/h! |
 |
And As Were Talking About
Accelleration...
...it wouldn't be right to leave out the Top Fuel
dragsters! These monsters move from 0-100 Mph in under 1
second, and up to 300 Mph (480 Km/h) in less than 5
seconds! |
Thats all i know man! In Norway
dragracing is a very small sport, but there is a few
races in the summer months. If you wonder what the top
speed of one of these are, or how much it weights, that
makes two of us. |

 |
The Word
on The Street...
...is that the Formula One cars are quite fast as
well. Judge for yourself; 0 - 100mph in 3.7secs
or less. 0 - 100mph and back
to zero in 4 secs. An F1 car can go from
185mph to 0 in a little more than 2
seconds in a distance of 85 metres. |
Personally, I
think F1 is a boring motorsport. I just sit and watch
and hope that someone will crash soon before I'm bored
to death. In earlier times the F1 cars had more power
but so many drivers crashed and died so theres a lot of
restriction now to ensure the safety of the drivers and
to keep us bored. |
 |
I Read On the Internet...
...about a rocked powered dragster who made a few
records in 1981. On a salt flat it accellerated from
zero to 60 Mph in 0.2 seconds, and 100 Mph in 0.5
seconds. It reached the 1/4 mile line in 3.58 secs doing
386 Mph, the fastest drag run in history (at least my
source claims it to be). |
The car's name is Vanishing
Point. These rocket cars is now illegal, probalby by the
same reasons the F1 cars got restricions. What a shame! |
